French ELLE July 2008 : Tribute to Yves Saint Laurent
French Elle were quick off the block of their tribute to fashion designer, Yves Saint Laurent, with their issue that hits newsstands in France today. Pictured on the cover with model, Laetitia Casta on the runway in 1998, Elle thank Saint Laurent for his contribution to fashion. The magazine compiled a series of relatively unpublished photographs illustrating his life through the years as well as some of his most iconic designs as they appeared on the runway or in pages of fashion magazines.
Jonathan Saunders Resort 2009

With a Target collection slated for October and a newly appointed ready-to-wear director position at Pollini, Jonathan Saunders is on a roller-coaster ride. For his namesake collection, he gave in to the night with an array of shiny, structured cocktail dresses and also created day-to-evening looks with easy chiffon Murano glass print dresses.
Celine Resort 2009

Walking through Ivana Omazic’s Celine collection was like walking through a Charley Harper retrospective, with flamingo, owl and swallow prints on everything from sweet day dresses to an allover sequined Palm Beach print minidress. Omazic also played with a nautical theme of sail-rope trimmings and voluminous backs on dresses and coats representing sails in the wind.

Harper’s Bazaar US July 2008: Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow looks positively flawless on the July 2008 cover of Harper’s Bazaar US, out June 17.
In the mag, the mother-of-two talks about staying in shape: “All the negative things have actually ended up being really positive because they’ve kick-started me into thinking how I want to look for the rest of my life.”
Continued Gwyn, “And you know, I don’t want to look like a mother who doesn’t care. For myself, for my work and for my relationship, I want to look good.”
And she surely looks good here.

Calvin Klein Resort 2009

It was a little Issey, a little Chessy—as in Miyake during his eighties heyday, as in Rayner dressed in Madame Grès. In other words, Francisco Costa said "pleats, please" for Resort. During today's mini-show, a scaled-back presentation that suits the season well, the Calvin Klein designer used the technique on everything from icy-hued dresses with kimono sleeves to his modern take on that Grecian workhorse, the toga. A python motif also, ahem, snaked throughout, whether literally, in a white sharply cut, high-collared coat, or subtly printed on dresses or cleverly embossed on a khaki trench. Though understated, simple resin belts and teetering, strappy sandals added necessary edge. Unlike last season's swimsuit-inspired line, this was a collection for city streets—not a single bikini in the bunch
Fendi Resort Collection 2009

Seventies anyone? That’s the mood Karl Lagerfeld is in for Fendi’s resort collection, though — with the exception of one very Marcia Brady-like dress — he rendered it with the lightest of hands
Helmut Lang Resort Collection 2009

For their resort collection, designer presented the label’s signature soft-sculpted dresses and separates in a somber palette accented with pops of fuchsia and blue.

Alexander Wang Resort 2009

Talking about his resort collection, Alexander Wang joked that his downtown hipster has moved to “an old boat somewhere with a bunch of robes and stuff, and decides to dock somewhere random.” But there was nothing random about his silk robe dresses, fitted jackets and cozy thermals, all of which were right on target.
